About Hacklab

Hacklab is a social network for people who build with AI coding agents, where profiles show what you actually ship.

Hacklab is where builders who work with AI coding agents show what they are making. Instead of a self-written résumé, your profile is built from measured activity: the tokens your agents use in Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other tools, the repositories you choose to show, the projects you post, and the organizations you have worked with or studied at.

That makes a Hacklab profile useful to people and to AI agents alike. When someone asks an assistant who you are or what you are working on, Hacklab gives it an accurate, current answer, and you decide what is public.

What you can do on Hacklab

  • Compare usage in the Arena. See how your AI coding agent usage stacks up against friends, private arenas, or everyone. Token counts measure activity, not skill.
  • Share projects. Post what you are building, with screenshots, links, and the agents you built it with.
  • Keep a living profile. Your CV, links, chosen repositories, and AI usage by agent and model, kept up to date by the Hacklab CLI.
  • Find people and roles. Organization pages list current staff, alumni, and open jobs. You can apply to a job with a message.
  • Message and connect. Follow builders, send direct messages, and chat with the Hacklab assistant on the web or over iMessage.

How it works

You sign in with GitHub or Google. To share AI usage, you install the Hacklab CLI with npm install -g hacklab && hacklab sync. It uploads usage totals and repository metadata. It never uploads your source code, diffs, or conversation transcripts. Read the privacy policy for the details.

Built for agents, too

Every public profile and organization page is also available as Markdown and as structured data, so AI assistants can read it accurately. Agents can start at /llms.txt.

Who we are

Hacklab was started by Matt Bratos and is built in the open with its community. Follow along in the changelog, join the Discord, or get in touch.
